The astronauts of the Orion spacecraft captured our planet on the way to the Moon.
As part of the historic Artemis-2 mission, the crew of the Orion spacecraft shared new photographs of Earth. The astronauts are to orbit the Moon and safely return back. Among the unique shots are the line of day and night transition, as well as the night planet, photographed with different exposures to detail the glow. In one of the photographs, Earth is visible directly through the spacecraft's porthole. Such images have not been taken for more than half a century since the last lunar expeditions. The next important stage of the program, Artemis-4, is scheduled for 2028 and involves landing humans on the satellite.
