About 56,000 people participated in the Twitter poll, and the most popular option was a price up to $599; however, in total, around 40% of respondents chose options priced at $699 and above. In the comments, many specify that they would only take such a step if there is a significant technical leap, expanded features, and a rich package.
The discussion was sparked by the latest news about hardware costs. In early April, Sony raised the prices of the PS5 and PS5 Pro: in the US, the base console now costs $649, and the enhanced version — $899, which is explained by the sharp increase in the cost of memory and other components.
