Polish writer Andrzej Sapkowski has announced that he intends to return to The Witcher universe and write at least one more novel in the series, adding that he plans to keep this promise to readers — “unlike George Martin.”
Speaking at the Brussels Book Fair, Sapkowski said he is planning to continue the Witcher saga but refused to share any details about the upcoming book, saying that “it is a secret.” He also jokingly remarked that he usually follows through on his promises, lightly poking fun at George R. R. Martin, whom he knows personally, and alluding to the long wait for new entries in A Song of Ice and Fire.
The author admitted that he does not have a single favorite character in The Witcher cycle, explaining that all of them are subordinate to the plot. He stressed that Geralt’s story is built around narrative rather than ideological statements, so the books do not contain hidden messages or direct commentary on current political issues.
