Main voice actors and key staff announced, poster and teaser revealed.

Bandai Namco Entertainment officially announced that the fantasy light novel by Kaeru Chohokuteki, "The Witch and the Mercenary" (Majo to Youhei), will be adapted into a television anime series, which will air on NTV in 2027. The first poster, teaser trailer, main cast, and key production staff were revealed simultaneously. The lead roles will be performed by Saori Hayami (Shiasha/Siasha) and Taito Ban (Zig Crane), with the production handled by studio 8bit.

Key staff include director Shimpei Ezaki ("Vivy: Fluorite Eye’s Song"), scriptwriter and series composition author Daishiro Tanimura ("Hell Mode"), character designer Keita Matsumoto ("Persona 5: The Animation – The Day Breakers"), sound director Akiko Fujita ("Shangri-La Frontier"), and composer Rei Ishizuka ("Ayakashi Triangle"), with music production handled by the Lantis label. The story unfolds in a world where witches are considered embodiments of catastrophe, capable of destroying a country overnight; after another battle for her life, the witch Shiasha joins forces with the mercenary Zig to find a place where she can live peacefully despite the threat from ancient magic and monsters.
