Toho has unveiled a new expansion strategy that places anime at the center of its business, describing a transition into a full-scale “mass production phase” for its animation output. By the fiscal year ending in 2029, the company plans to reach roughly 20 anime seasons per year, with a further increase to around 30 seasons annually by 2032 — with each season defined as a single cour of about 12 episodes.
