The creators revealed details of the first season of The One Piece: premiere in February 2027, improved animation, and tight runtime.

WIT Studio co-founder Tetsuya Nakatake shared long-awaited details about the remake of the cult anime "One Piece," which will be released exclusively on the Netflix platform. The project, titled The One Piece, is expected to be released in February 2027. The first season will include only 7 episodes, but their duration will be increased to 43 minutes each. The total runtime of 300 minutes will cover the events of the first 50 chapters of the original manga, up to the Baratie restaurant arc.According to the creators, this approach will ensure a high narrative density — about seven chapters per episode. The main goal of the remake is to attract a new audience, which is put off by the format of the old ongoing series with more than 1000 episodes and an abundance of fillers. The new version promises a flawless story pace, as well as completely reworked modern animation. Nakatake emphasized that the team is diligently polishing every frame and has already achieved impressive visual results, in whose success he is absolutely confident.
