Some episodes of the long-awaited manga adaptation unexpectedly became available on streaming platforms before the official release.



An early release of the anime "A Story About a Smoke Break Behind the Supermarket" (Super no Ura de Yani Suu Futari) unexpectedly took place on some streaming platforms. The first six episodes are already available to viewers. Since the creators split each episode in half, in fact, 12 short episodes with a duration of 10–12 minutes each were released.The full broadcast is scheduled to start in July, but the exact premiere date is still kept secret. The cozy adaptation is produced by the Japanese animation studio Asahi Production.The series plot introduces us to Sasaki — an ordinary middle-aged office worker tired of endless routine and his boss's nagging. His only relief after a hard day is a visit to the local 24-hour supermarket. There works a charming and cheerful cashier Yamada, whose sincere smile helps the man forget about his problems.However, one day the usual ritual fails: upon arriving at the store, Sasaki discovers that Yamada's shift has already ended. In search of a place to smoke, the disappointed hero accidentally meets a stranger. She introduces herself as a colleague of that very cashier and invites Sasaki to have a smoke break together, which becomes the beginning of an unusual communication between two lonely people.
