The animation studio 100studio has released the first promotional materials for the series "Black Torch" — a poster and a trailer. The premiere is scheduled for July 4.

The story centers on high school student Jiro Azuma, who inherited rare gifts from his grandfather: the ability to talk to animals and ninja skills. His grandfather instilled in him an unwavering will and readiness to help those in need. It was this that prompted Jiro to rush to the aid of an injured black cat — and he did not back down even when he discovered that he was facing a mononoke.
The boundless kindness of the young man so impressed the demonic cat Rago that when Jiro himself was near death, Rago responded in kind: he possessed his body and endowed him with supernatural power. However, the immense power of the spirit attracts dangerous hunters — and now Jiro finds himself at the epicenter of a war between humans and mononoke.
