NeoBards studio deliberately based the fears of the heroine Hinako on the real experiences of women in the team.
El Young, director of Silent Hill f from NeoBards studio, revealed in an interview with PC Gamer an unusual creative method used during the game's development. According to him, the main theme of Silent Hill f is the position of women in Japanese society during the game's era, and the only way to convey this theme convincingly was to directly consult the women on the team. "I am not competent to tell you how women should feel and what kind of pressure they face," the director admits, explaining that the most he could do was to ask the right questions and listen carefully.
