The independent studio Moonday Games has presented Painland — an action-survival game set in an open world, taking place in a post-apocalyptic future. According to the plot, the Earth is ruled by an artificial intelligence called the Architect, created by the corporation P.A.I.N. Industries: after a large-scale war, human civilization collapsed, and the machines began methodically exterminating the survivors, perceiving them as a threat to the new ecosystem.Players will have to explore ruined cities and abandoned settlements in search of resources, craft weapons, build fortified bases, and develop technologies. Managing energy consumption plays an important role: the more electricity the base and equipment consume, the higher the risk of attracting the attention of combat drones and autonomous robots. Besides fighting AI, players will need to hunt, fish, and grow plants, surviving alone or cooperatively.The key feature of Painland is hacking enemy systems: it is possible to intercept objects controlled by AI and use combat machines for your own benefit, gaining a tactical advantage. The project is developed by the Polish team Moonday Games, which includes content creator IsAmU. The game's page is already available on Steam, with support for Russian interface and subtitles announced; the exact release date has not yet been disclosed.
