Owners of the original on current platforms will receive the Spacer’s Choice Edition for free

Obsidian announced upcoming changes related to The Outer Worlds editions. Before that, the Spacer’s Choice Edition will receive two more updates with bug fixes, performance improvements, and a new item — grenades.The second patch will be released at the end of May, and on May 27 the original base version of the game will be removed from sale on most platforms. However, these changes will not affect the Xbox One, PS4, and Nintendo Switch stores.The previously purchased base version of The Outer Worlds will remain in users' libraries. Moreover, all owners of the standard edition who purchased it before May 27 will receive the Spacer’s Choice Edition on Steam, EGS, GOG, Xbox Series X|S, and PS5.Also, starting May 27, the upgrade system to the new edition on Xbox One and PS4 will change. If the account has the base version and two story DLCs, upgrading to the Spacer’s Choice Edition will be possible without additional payment.After this date, only the Spacer’s Choice Edition will remain available for sale on modern platforms. Its price will be reduced to 40 dollars.
