The open-world action game Crimson Desert, which launched in March, regularly receives updates, much to the delight of fans. In a conversation with The Washington Post journalists, Will Powers, Pearl Abyss's marketing director, explained that this rapid patch release pace is due to the studio's deliberate rejection of strict schedules and detailed roadmaps. According to him, long-term planning forces developers to guess the audience's desires instead of addressing real problems.The team prefers to remain flexible and implement changes requested by the community itself. This philosophy originated during the support of the MMORPG Black Desert, where instant feedback response and quick bug fixes became the foundation of corporate culture. The effectiveness of this approach is evident in the Steam rating: while at launch the game had only 57% positive reviews due to control and inventory issues, thanks to prompt fixes (such as adding storage and boss rematches) the rating quickly rose to 83%. The game has already sold over 5 million copies, and the studio plans to develop the story of mercenary Cliff further, continuing to listen to fans.
