Supermassive Games officially presented Directive 8020 — the next chapter of The Dark Pictures Anthology. The game is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.The story takes place in the future aboard the colonial ship Cassiopeia, heading to the planet Tau Ceti f. After an emergency landing, the crew discovers an alien life form capable of copying the appearance of team members. The developers position the project as a mix of science fiction, psychological tension, and paranoia in the spirit of classic space films.One of the main roles is played by Lashana Lynch, known for "No Time to Die" and "Captain Marvel." The studio focused on cinematic direction, branching decisions, and a consequence system.The cooperative modes Shared Story and Movie Night, which have become the series' hallmark, are also present in the new installment.The game is built on the Unreal Engine 5 and features improved facial animation, refined lighting, and revamped stealth mechanics.
