Bungie announced a progress wipe and rewards for the first season.

Bungie reported that the second season in Marathon will begin on June 2 under the name Nightfall. The studio also shared information about upcoming updates and the conditions for transitioning between seasons.On May 19, patch 1.0.9 will be released with the final content of the first season: the amount of loot on maps will be increased and character leveling will be accelerated. The "Cryo-Archive" map, previously available only on weekends, will be open daily starting May 21.The seasonal wipe will affect levels, ranks, and inventory, preserving cosmetics, currency, and materials from the codex. Players will receive rewards based on their achieved rank at the end of the first season — top ranks will grant an emblem, a skin for the Repeater HPR, and an exclusive title.Nightfall will bring a new zone called Night Marsh, weapons, a shell, and a unique leveling system called The Cradle. Full details will be announced from May 25 to 31. Bungie confirmed long-term support for the game for several years.
