Firaxis has released a major update "Trial of Time" for Civilization VII, which implements many player requests.
One of the key innovations is the ability to complete the entire campaign without changing civilization when transitioning between eras.
The game also introduced a syncretism mechanic, allowing borrowing units and infrastructure elements from other civilizations.
The triumph system replaced the previous legacy paths. It offers tasks related to the leader's characteristics, for completing which various bonuses are awarded.
The developers reworked the victory conditions: now there are more ways to achieve supremacy, and points can be accumulated from the very start of the game. A new leader has been added to the game — Alexander the Great, possessing military and cultural bonuses that enhance city development.

Among other things — a new map "Fractal Continent" with a high degree of random generation, an updated interface including the trade screen and tooltips, as well as an expanded soundtrack of 175 compositions.
On the occasion of the update release, the game received a 40% discount on Steam.
