Owlcat revealed details of the third expansion — focusing on an augmentation system with a hundred implants.
The studio Owlcat published a detailed description of the The Infinite Museion expansion for Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. The announcement was made during the Skulls presentation, and the DLC release is scheduled for June 11.
According to the plot, players will travel to the vault of Trazin the Countless to unravel a mystery hanging over the Coronus Space. The main innovation will be the augmentation system: on the Von Valancius ship, the Bionics Sector will open, where Genetor Ferrenz and Vivisector Martinax can install implants. The developers have prepared over a hundred augmentations with three types of effects — positive, negative, and neutral.
Implants are distributed across six slots (two for the head and hands, one each for torso and legs), and members of the Adeptus Mechanicus have unique additional slots. Installed implants cannot be removed — only replaced. The DLC introduces the characteristic “ferrum sanctum,” which enhances augmentation effects but increases vulnerability to electrical damage. Some implants can be placed in the galvanization slot for a temporary combat bonus. Some companions will refuse implantation for ideological reasons, while characters with already embedded devices will receive unique augments available even without the DLC.
