The new adventure from the creators of Shovel Knight has become the main indie sensation of the year.





On May 27, reviews were released for the 2D adventure Mina the Hollower from Yacht Club Games — and the scores were exceptional. The Metacritic rating reached 93 points, making the game the best release of 2026 according to the aggregator. On OpenCritic, the project scored 92 points with 97% recommendations.

Critics describe Mina the Hollower as a large-scale indie game with an extensive world full of secrets, a deep combat system, and flexible character progression. In structure, it resembles the classic The Legend of Zelda, in combat mechanics — FromSoftware games, and in visual style — gothic Castlevania. At the same time, Yacht Club Games has created something original: a unique story about technology and nature, as well as an open world that can be explored almost without restrictions right after the prologue.
The main campaign is designed for about 25 hours, but considering additional content and the “New Game+” mode, the game holds attention for a long time. The only caveat is the high difficulty, which may scare off some players — however, customizable modifiers allow adapting the experience to oneself. IGN gave the game 10 out of 10; GameSpot, GamesRadar+, and PC Gamer awarded 9/10 and 90/100 respectively. The release on PC and all current consoles is on May 29.
