According to the South Korean publication The Korean Economic Daily, Krafton will be forced to transfer up to $250 million to Unknown Worlds studio — this is the bonus stipulated in the contract upon reaching certain financial milestones. The reason was the stunning success of Subnautica 2, which surpassed four million copies sold in just five days of early access.According to the terms of the agreement, bonus payments are activated every month when the studio's revenue exceeds $69.8 million. The bonus rate is $3.12 for every dollar earned, although the details of the calculation formula have not been fully disclosed. The payment amount is equivalent to 35% of Krafton's annual operating profit for 2025.
