Kenjo Oguro explained how the principle of 'flipping' mechanics could work in a horror franchise.
Capcom head Kenjo Oguro in an interview with VGC allowed for the possibility of a Resident Evil Stories spin-off inspired by the concept of Monster Hunter Stories. According to him, the key idea of such a project would be a radical rethinking of the series' usual dynamics — just as Stories turned monsters from enemies into allies.Regarding Resident Evil, Oguro proposed a different transformation: instead of destroying the infected, the main character would strive to cure them and restore their human form. The director drew a parallel with Dead Rising, but with a fundamentally different focus — not on extermination, but on rescue.Capcom currently has no official plans to create such a game. Oguro emphasized: the project will come to life only if the team finds a truly fresh perspective on the universe capable of generating unique gameplay.
