During the State of Play broadcast on the night of June 3, Konami announced the release date for Silent Hill: Townfall — September 24. The game is set in 1996 on the Scottish island of Saint Amelia. The main character, named Simon Ordell, wakes up with a firm determination to "make things right" and heads to the fog-shrouded town.
The gameplay combines exploration, combat with enemies — both melee and using firearms — and puzzle-solving. Simon's key tool is a portable television that picks up unstable signals: it can also be used to determine the location of enemies. A fundamental difference of Townfall from other entries in the series is the first-person perspective, which is used here for the first time.
Pre-orders are open on Steam and the PS Store. The standard edition costs $50, the deluxe edition — $60 and includes two days of early access. The game will be released on PC and PS5.
