Developer Gameplay Group International, in collaboration with Paramount, has announced the release date for Avatar Legends: The Fighting Game — a 2D fighter based on the animated franchises Avatar: The Last Airbender and The Legend of Korra. The game launches on July July 2, 2026 for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC via Steam. The Standard Edition is priced at $29.99, while the Deluxe Edition will cost $49.99.
The launch roster features 12 playable characters, including Aang, Korra, Zuko, Katara, Toph, Sokka, Azula, Zaheer, Fire Lord Ozai, and Avatar Kyoshi. Every fighter is hand-animated with over 900 frames per character, designed to match the visual style of the original animated series. The game supports a proprietary rollback netcode and full cross-play across all platforms, with the unique Flow System mechanic building gameplay around fluid, movement-centric combat. Available modes include a story campaign with an original narrative, arcade mode, ranked online play, training, and a gallery featuring previously unreleased artwork.
