Director James Gunn is looking for an actress to play the alien queen role, filming will begin in the coming days.
On April 8, Deadline published a list of actresses who, according to the publication, auditioned for the role of Maxima in the Superman sequel — among them were named Adria Arjona, Ella Purnell, and Marisa Abela. Later, Gunn criticized this list on social media, stating that he had never met Purnell and Abela, and called Arjona only a "longtime friend."
