The crime drama "Lord of War 2" is planned for release in 2027. The rights to distribute the film in the United States were acquired by Vertical. Andrew Niccol, the writer and director of the original 2005 film, is once again handling the direction and screenplay.Nicolas Cage will return to the role of arms dealer Yuri Orlov. According to the plot, the protagonist discovers he has an adult son, Anton (played by Bill Skarsgård), who has created his own mercenary army. Father and son find themselves on opposite sides of the conflict and enter into confrontation. The cast also includes Laura Harrier ("Spider-Man: Homecoming"), Sylvia Hoeks ("Blade Runner 2049"), and Greg Tarzan Davis ("Top Gun: Maverick"). Filming has already been completed, and the first official still from the movie has been released online.
