This is the third joint project of the actor and director David Ayer.
Action star Jason Statham and director David Ayer are preparing a new intense thriller John Doe, which will be their third collaboration following the successful films "The Beekeeper" and "The Master," which grossed 163 and 89 million dollars worldwide, respectively. The screenplay is written by Zak Penn, known for his work on "The Avengers" and "Ready Player One."Statham will play a mysterious man without a name or memories. Waking up with complete amnesia, the protagonist discovers he has the skills of an elite assassin. As fragments of memory return, "John Doe" realizes he is involved in a large-scale operation and has become a target of those who created him. When his pursuers close in, he must choose: to complete the bloody mission or protect the only thing that keeps his humanity — love. The film is produced by Miramax, and Statham will also serve as a producer. Filming is scheduled to begin in September this year. The creators hope that the proven "chemistry" between the director and actor will once again ensure the project’s box office success in the hard-hitting action genre.
