The tragic death of Uncle Ben due to Peter Parker's inaction was long considered a key moment in the origin of Spider-Man, as shown in the versions with Tobey Maguire and Andrew Garfield. However, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, this episode was always avoided. In an interview with the portal CBR, the Russo brothers finally clarified this issue: in their version, Tom Holland's hero is not indirectly responsible for this death. According to Joe Russo, the guilt over Uncle Ben would have made Holland's interpretation of Parker completely different — heavier and more intense. Nevertheless, the MCU was not without losses: in "No Way Home" Peter's actions indirectly lead to the death of Aunt May at the hands of the Green Goblin.
