Eric Kripke commented on some viewers' complaints about the fifth season of "The Boys," where certain episodes are called too loosely connected to the main plot. In an interview with TV Guide, the show's creator noted that he sees a wave of dissatisfaction but does not consider such episodes unnecessary.According to Kripke, the series cannot and should not turn into a sequence of large-scale battles in every episode. He emphasized that without detailed work on the characters, the climactic moments of the final episodes would simply lose their meaning. The showrunner added that the writers did not set out to create "filler" episodes — on the contrary, the team was confident that important changes occur in each episode, even if not always in the form of action. Kripke also suggested that part of the criticism is related to the weekly release format: when watching the season as a whole, the impression might have been different. The final episodes of the fifth season will be released on May 13 and 20.
