Fremantle and Archery Pictures have begun production on the series "Moriarty" — a contemporary interpretation of the famous literary villain. According to the creators' concept, Moriarty teaches criminal psychology at Durham University while simultaneously orchestrating crimes in northern England.When an unknown rival threatens his secret empire, the protagonist takes an unexpected step — agreeing to cooperate with the police as a consultant, carefully concealing his own involvement in the criminal world. Paired with detective Imogen Burrows, Moriarty gradually realizes that the main threat comes from somewhere entirely unexpected.The script is being written by Chris Cornwall ("A Discovery of Witches") and Oliver Lansley ("Where Did Wanda Go"). The lead actor and release date have not yet been announced.
