The actor spoke about his favorite adaptation and the role of "Breaking Bad" in his career.



In an interview with Complex, Nicolas Cage paid tribute to Andrew Garfield, calling his portrayal of Spider-Man the most interesting among all the young actors who played Peter Parker. According to the actor, Garfield is a remarkable actor who managed to create the most memorable superhero image on the big screen.

In a conversation with Variety, Cage also recalled that he once declined the offer to play the Green Goblin in Sam Raimi's "Spider-Man" in favor of participating in "Adaptation" — and does not regret this decision at all. For many years, he deliberately avoided television, considering it a format for "monotonous" projects. Everything changed when he watched "Breaking Bad" during the pandemic: the scene where Bryan Cranston silently looks at the suitcase convinced Cage that the multi-episode format offers actors opportunities unavailable in cinema.
Before filming "Spider-Man: Noir," the actor admitted that he felt very nervous — he feared that his experiment of combining the images of classic Hollywood stars with Spider-Man would not be accepted. Cage also confirmed his interest in a role in the fifth season of "True Detective," but does not have specific information about the project's status.
