Windows 11 Home and Pro editions on 24H2 will begin automatically updating to 25H2 as devices become ready.



Microsoft announced the launch of a forced transition for systems based on Windows 11 version 24H2 to a newer 25H2 build. Support for 24H2 will end on October 13, 2026, after which this branch will no longer receive security fixes or other updates. According to the Windows Release Health page, the automatic rollout primarily affects devices with Home and Pro editions that are not managed by IT departments and are not under centralized update policies.
