Old horror games like Resident Evil and Dino Crisis have become truly playable on the handheld device.
Valve has released a new version of Proton Experimental, which significantly improved compatibility with a number of classic Capcom games on Steam Deck and in the Linux environment. The list of titles that have gained 'playable' status includes, in particular, Resident Evil (1996), Resident Evil 2 (1998), Dino Crisis and Dino Crisis 2, as well as other projects like Warhammer: Vermintide 2. For fans of retro horrors, this is especially important: previously, running these versions on SteamOS without workarounds was difficult or even impossible.
