Publishing the seventh chapter of "The World Highway" - "Posthumous Category."
The title is unusual. It came about on its own - it's a phrase from Sky, and in the text, you will understand why she called something exactly by this term. Sky generally doesn't throw words around for nothing. 😉
As I wrote earlier, this chapter was completely unplanned in the form it came out... At all. I have (or rather had 🙂) a plan for the whole book, an approximate map up to the tenth chapter inclusive - but as almost always happens with me: I sit down to write, get into the flow, don't look at the plan, and then it turns out the plan went off plan. The characters live their own lives. At some point, I simply stopped directing them and began just describing what happens. Apparently, they like it that way more.
The seventh chapter has a completely different rhythm. There are no chases or shootings here. Here the heroes reveal themselves from the side that was previously hidden - we learn what is in their souls, what drives them, what motives and secrets they have carried with them for years. Olmi has his own little secret, and Sky's reaction to it is probably one of those things that definitely shouldn't have existed between them, but in the end, it became (or rather will become - to be honest, I myself don't yet know where all this will lead) something very important for the whole story.
Although the chapter was written in one breath, the editorial work was the hardest.…
